We Love Christmas & New Year - Every Year!

You are assured of a Warm Welcome at the G&D for our Fabulous Christmas & New Year Celebrations

The G&D Crew may go just a bit overboard on some of our Christmas Decorations, but we think this just adds to the magic of Christmas at the G&D and helps everyone to relax and feel good – You spend a long time working all year, so it is good to spend some quality time relaxing with friends and kindred spirits (of which we have plenty!).

Join us for the special G&D Winter Warmer Coffees, or Homemade Mulled Wine with Leigh’s Homemade Mince Pies & her Christmas-themed Homemade Cakes & Pastries from the Coffee Bar, even Al-fresco under the giant umbrellas in our large, paved Beer Garden on a Bright Sunny day – Well this is South Devon and part of the English Riviera!

There will also be regular updates about Live Music and Chef’s Specials for Lunch and/or Evening Dinner, Leigh’s Homemade Cakes etc., on our Facebook Page and on the A-Frame Blackboards.

For Traditional Christmas Day Lunch you can join us with a table in the Main Bars, or in the Boatroom Restaurant as you prefer – Pre-Booking is Essential please!

The G&D 2024 Christmas Day Lunch Menu and a Preorder Form are available to view and download here: We do hope you can join us – but don’t delay, we just need to get you booked in for a table, but we do not need a deposit or your preorder till about a week before the big day, latest Tuesday 19th December!

New Year’s Eve: One of the Maddest and Fun Nights of the Year in Dartmouth is always New Year’s Eve – We will possibly even have our Garden Bar open – Weather Permitting of course! - You can see pictures on this page from past G&D Fancy Dress Party Madness on New Year’s Eve – Join us to do it all again on December 31st, 2024.

Come and see us in your Individual or Group Fancy Dress – you will not be alone!

– The creative minds and capabilities of our customers and the Standard of Fancy Dress for New Year’s Eve is Simply Outstanding – No doubt this will be maintained - BUT you are equally welcome in your new Party frock or favourite jeans and trainers, or even the new Christmas Jumper then that is fine too - and warm if you are doing a Dartmouth walkabout!!

At the G&D we always like to help things go smoothly and so on New Year’s Eve we do not sell tickets to rob and try to trap people, when it is so much more fun to walk around the town – weather permitting of course, and see all of the other ‘sensible’ people in their fancy dress!

We will be providing FREE Canapes & Bacon Rolls from time to time during the evening (when they are gone they’re gone - WIGIG!), to help us all keep a little bit sane and ensure that everybody can enjoy a great night!

Finally, on New Year’s Day – Do Try the G&D Hangover Brunch – All Manner of Good and Simple Things –Served from 12noon – Always Works a Treat!
